Explore what GAIN is, where it is going and how you can gain from experience and expertise in the field
It is a UK & Ireland fungal meeting initiative on the management of Invasive Fungal Disease (IFD) that is delivered collaboratively by experts in Medical Mycology and the Medical Affairs Team at Gilead Sciences Ltd. GAIN provides an interdisciplinary programme of plenary sessions, debates, case studies and workshops relevant to healthcare professionals (HCPs), researchers and academics working in the UK & Ireland who are involved in the diagnosis and management of IFD.
The GAIN educational initiative was founded in 2014 to provide high level education on the diagnosis and management of invasive fungal disease to healthcare professionals, researchers and academics in the UK & Ireland. It was initially focused on antifungals and safety parameters but has grown to incorporate critical care, haematology and antifungal stewardship. Over the past 10 years, GAIN has hosted e-learning programmes, virtual webinars as well as face-to-face meetings. This year, we are excited to return in person with a one-day face-to-face meeting in June 2023.
Gilead products may be discussed within the meeting. AmBisome® (Liposomal amphotericin B) is indicated for the treatment of systemic fungal infections in adults and children (aged 1 month to 18 years old). For a full list of indications, please refer to the AmBisome® summary of product characteristics available here: UK | Ireland
The annual GAIN meeting is developed by Gilead Sciences Limited in conjunction with a multidisciplinary expert steering committee. We would like to thank the steering committee for their guidance and support.
